Calls for tender were launched during 2007 for the conclusion of contracts for the organisation, management and implementation of Community training activities to take place in 2008. These activities focus on the areas of food and feed safety, animal health and animal welfare, and plant health.

For certain of these programmes, contracts have now been awarded to, who have undertaken to organise, manage and implement the activities. The courses cater for around 4 000 participants over 88 training events and 27 periods of sustained training and assistance.

The IZS TERAMO CONSORTIUM has thus far been awarded the contract for the organisation of a series of five four-day training courses on Monitoring and controls of zoonoses and applying microbiological criteria in foodstuffs.
